The team at Drewton’s Farm Shop near South Cave, East Yorkshire is in high spirits after learning that it has been shortlisted for no less than five Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards (REYTAs).
The annual awards scheme is organised by regional tourism body Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY) and the shortlisted finalists received the good news during the last couple of days. Drewton’s Farm Shop - a popular shopping and dining venue, which also boasts two five-star rated self-catering cottages - is up for the Remarkable Breakfast; Remarkable Fayre; Remarkable Night’s Sleep (non-serviced); Remarkable Welcome and Remarkable Cuppa awards.
The REYTAs aim to recognise the crème de la crème of the region’s tourism industry and the winners will be announced at an award ceremony on March 22.
Drewton’s Farm Shop was also recently shortlisted in two separate categories in the Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards – ‘New Business’ and ‘Business of the Year (more than 20 employees)’. The awards ceremony will take place at Goole High School on 1 March.
Katie Taylor, proprietor of Drewton’s, said: “To be nominated for five REYTAs is a huge achievement; the entire team is thrilled and excited to be recognised in this way.
“The news came soon after we heard that we’d been shortlisted in two categories for the Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards, so it’s been a fantastic start to 2012 for Drewton’s. With two award ceremonies to attend, March is going to be a very exciting month for us – wish us luck!”
